Grant Writing Fees

Level I - grant amounts from $10,000 to $99,000:

We offer a sliding fee schedule based on the grant amount and on the foundation’s budget.

Grant Fee Schedule

Level II - Grant amounts from $100,000 - $1,000,000+ per fiscal year:

A flat fee of $10,000 is charged for writing grants within this range unless an application requires a level of staff time that exceeds the commitment we would customarily anticipate in the development process. The fee in these instances is negotiated on a case-by-case basis with the client. Grants over one million dollars will be negotiated based on a number of factors on a case-by-case basis. Please call CRR and speak to a representative about your specific project.

Level III – Grant amounts from $50,000 and upward

CRR sometimes writes proposals on a percentage contingency fee for grants of $50,000 and above. A contingency fee option is offered at the sole discretion of CRR. A contingency arrangement always requires a review of the client’s circumstances and an assessment of the likelihood of a successful proposal prior to approval. CRR charges a percentage fee that is reasonable and which takes into account the reality that in such an arrangement, CRR bears the entire fiscal burden of producing the application.

Letter of Inquiry Writing

  • Initial Agency/Program Letter of Inquiry (LOI)–1-3 page Letter of Inquiry = $250
  • Subsequent LOI’s (same program) = $100

CRR Commitment to Grant Quality

If a grant we write is not funded, CRR will revise and resubmit the original proposal to the same program the following year using feedback from the reader’s comments. We do not redevelop proposals or write entirely new proposals under this provision, nor will we rewrite the proposal for a new funding source under this provision.

Non-Profit Clients

For non-profit clients, there is no additional fee for rewriting and resubmitting an unfunded proposal to the same funding source.

CRR Proposal Review Services

CRR provides review and critique services for clients who want to write the grant themselves and then have it reviewed by an expert prior to submittal. As part of this service CRR experts will work through two or three complete review and critique cycles, providing written comments with very specific recommendations for improvement. While the fee for this service varies, based on the type of grant involved, fees typically begin at $1,500.

Member Resources

We offer a Member Site for those who want access to more resources than what we offer for free on our site. By charging for some of our resources we are able to develop more and higher quality resources for our members. We’re excited about our member site and we know you’ll think it’s well worth the cost.
